Who are the Tigers? Around 15 children aged between 3 and 11 make up Tigers, but it can be hard to tell sometimes!
Our favourite ice-cream flavours: strawberry, vanilla, chocolate and mint.
Our favourite Bible characters: Joseph, Jesus and all the disciples!
Our favourite animals: horses, dogs, penguins, and duck-billed platypuses
Our top 3 worst Bible baddies: Zacchaeus (although he became a good guy), Goliath and Mr Big, the Devil.
But God’s bigger than any of them!
Our favourite songs are: “Our God is a great big God,” “Blessed be your name,” “These are the days of Elijah” and “Twisting back in time” – always popular at our holiday club!
We have a committed team of leaders and helpers each Sunday from the teens up to the…..slightly older!
There are 3 groups – Bubbles (3-5 year olds); Splash (6-8 year olds) and X-Stream (9-11 year olds).
We meet on most Sunday mornings at Shrewsbury Baptist Church during the service for around 45 minutes. The service starts at 10.30 a.m.
About once a month, we have a family service, when we stay together with the rest of the church.
We use Scripture Union’s teaching material – roughly!
Each week, we’ll have a time of teaching, usually with a game or two, singing, craft, drama and creative prayer.
This term we’re looking at Talking with God (focussing on prayer) and how Jesus healed people.
Special Events We had a great time at Champion’s Challenge, the summer holiday club.
Everyone loved Karate Kate and Jogger Jim, who had a great line in bad jokes.
We’ve also had fun this autumn with our friends on the bouncy castle and getting wet and sticky with sponge throwing and a chocolate fountain at the Crowmoor Community Fun day.
Next year we hope to welcome the legendary Duggie -Doug Horley and his team to do a Praise party in Shrewsbury – more details to follow!
